I’m a 25 year old, young woman, From South Africa, Johannesburg. I was diagnosed with HIV in 1999 on the 04^th of May, minutes after giving birth to my daughter. No, don’t be worried…Yes, she was born without me taking any ARV’s, because no one told me how my results were when I returned for my Antenatal Visit at the clinic I was attending. Nevertheless, SHE IS HIV NEGETIVE, yes it is possible!

This will not be the first time I write on a website to share my story, but when I did it always, I was in pain. Today I’m writing with a totally different feeling, a feeling of joy and happiness. If there’s anything, I’ve come to realize as far as HIV is concerned is that there is life out there to be lived. We often say that HIV kills, HIV kills but it has actually brought me life. Now I’m more aware of who I’m and what I really want out of life..

I’m currently planning my family, I have a loving partner and we are planning out first child together. I’m employed and I work in the HIV field.

I would like to get in touch with other people living with HIV around the world. I would also like to be interviewed for my story to be heard by the world.
